KENNEDY SPACE CENTER VISITOR COMPLEX, FL - Christmastime 2018 is upon us and that means it’s time to celebrate holiday cheer. And for space enthusiasts there is a double dose of opportunities if you’re in the neighborhood of the Florida Space Coast.

The annual ‘Holidays’ in Space’ festive light decorations premiered Friday, Dec. 14 at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (KSCVC) celebrating the Christmas holiday and Seasons Greetings. 

Plus you can enjoy the next SpaceX Falcon 9 launch of the GPS III SV01 satellite for the US Air Force  slated for blastoff on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 9:11 a.m. EST. Weather outlook is currently 80 % GO !!

New this year is a fanciful kinetic light show involving 200 LED kinetic spheres along with beautiful Christmas holiday light display and decorations strolling the walkways around the Space Shuttle Atlantis pavilion.

The kinetic light display begins at 5 p.m. each evening and repeats every 20 minutes.

This season also marks the Apollo 50th celebrations and the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 8 - highlighted in a new pavilion area beside Atlantis and as part of the light show.

The light show decorations run from Dec. 14 through Dec. 30, 2018 except for Christmas Day Dec. 25.

The KSC Visitor Complex also offers a holiday-themed kids activity area beside the Atlantis West Pavilion from Dec. 26 - 30.
